Delicious vegan chicken sandwich for 7 dollars, for me it was big enough for two meals. Really wish there was a good sauce that went with it, the mayo was a bit bland. Regardless it was a good price

The owners are just honest and lovely people. Great quality and very cheap Vegetarian/Vegan sandwich, deli and salads. I encourage you to support this local shop in Lower Haight.

I walked in the place is empty sparsly decorated, with one lady behind the counter. Tibetan throat singing is playing in background. I'm overwhelmed by the vegan sandwich selection. And also vegan jerky and other treats. They also sell supplies to make you own. Now my sandwich was roast duck on sourdough. It was really awesome. Golden bread, with that sourdough flavor combined with usual suspects of vegetables and vegan mayo mustard. I will be back Oh and all under 8 most under 7.

Best prices in town. I'm not a vegetarian but this is still my favorite sandwich shop. A super chill and relaxing place to read a book and enjoy a sandwich. The salads are SUPER DANK too!

It's great if you're Vegan or have a Vegan friend to take out. They only serve Vegan and Vegetarian options..it's open pretty late too. Family owned.Do keep in mind, you'll need cash. Credit cards aren't allowed. The ATMs in the Lower Haight tend to be shady or expensive (usually both). So come prepared.

Very fresh and open late. Great prices, just wish they would make half sandwiches as well. Hummus is homemade and delicious but lacking salt.

Classic SF sandwich joint. Nice folks will make your sando. There is a meat alternative for almost any kind of meat. The veggie chicken steak was my go to.

Delicious falafel sandwich at a great price! Glad they are right next to Toronado and Rosamunde, this makes dinner and beers with my vegetarian friends easy to deal with!

Fantastically delicious sandwiches--and they don't cost an arm and a leg! I highly recommend the chicken steak sandwich on toasted (be explicit about toasting) Dutch crunch bread with avocado. Suuuuper good. Also, contrary to another review I read, you can't get the vegan meat that they serve here at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods because LnH sources from Taiwan, and the vegan stuff peddled at stores in the U.S. is vastly inferior. Cash only, BTW.

This place will probably not attract you from outside, but it is worth to go in. The lady behind counter is super nice and make you feel like sitting in her own living room whole serving you homemade tasty sandwiches. Super nice and warm place to rest! Sandwiches are great!

Love it! Lots of proper hardcore veggies. But there is no reason not to have vegenaise or take credit cards

I've been coming to Love and Haight for years. Their food is top notch and the employees are always extremely nice. Totally recommend their veggie meatless chicken sandwich!

Exceptional vegetarian deli sandwiches and a huge assortment of hard to find healthy drinks and snack items. One of the best late night food options in SF (one of the only late night options that isn’t pizza or a lousy diner). Also this place is a legit classic SF landmark run by a wonderful, friendly lady. I love giving places like this my business whenever possible.

The food here is incredible. It's also unbelievably cheap and the sandwiches are kinda big. I'm honestly shocked by how good the food and price is. I got the Vegan Chicken Steak sandwich on a sourdough roll. Just make sure to ask for no mayo to make sure it is Vegan.

Vegan! Deli sandwiches! I always get the tofu on sourdough because I’m not really into fake meats. But a recent bite of the hubby’s chicken steak on a dutch crunch roll may have made me a covert.Super kind lady behind the counter. Adorable decor. Lovely location. Affordable. Would visit every day if I lived closer. Seriously love this place. Sooooooo many vegan friendly choices — and everything is super well labeled - always appreciated!

Thank goodness for one of the only restaurants in the area to leave dead bodies of the menu. Defies the stereotype of expensive vegan/veggie food. Open till midnight! They get most of their veggie meat at Layonna vegetarian meat makers in Oakland. The best tasting meat imo are chicken steak and smoked duck. Old school SF vibe. The photo is one of the packaged snacks they offer.

Clean Simple Delicious Light Vegan Sandwiches

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! HEALTHY FOOD AND HEALTHY VIBE......AMAZING!!!

The sandwich menu is mostly vegan. The bread selection is mostly vegan. It's open late. It doesn't have WiFi but it has a neighbor who does.Oh yeah, the sandwich was excellent.

The first time I went here I did not really get why people loved it so much. I got a veggie sandwich. Upon my return I discovered that the real reason this place is so popular is because of their selection of "fake" meats. Oh my. The veggie smoked "duck" is probably the best textured vegetable protein that I have ever had! Add avocado on the sourdough and it ay just be the best vegan sandwich in the city for the least amount of money. I now eat here a few times a week. Great bread options as well including pita.

I always feel good after I eat here and digest. Don’t get me wrong - I’m a girl who eats what tastes good - but at this place it tastes good and I feel good. FYI, I am a woman who knows how to analyze research and self-observations.I like the duck and the pepper steak or pepper chicken. I haven’t tried everything yet. I usually get mine with a lettuce wrap as I am liking more gluten-free items. Either way, I don’t think one could go wrong.It’s all meatless- but not the tofu-y weird tasteless something something that some vegan restaurants have.This stuff is goooooooooood.The owners are beautiful too.EAT, MY CHILDREN!

Haven't been here in years, but it's still the same kitchy little place it always was. And the sandwiches are just as delicious as I remember.

Best sandwiches in the world. Kicks butt over the near-by Stella's. Lots to love for both vegetarians and meat eaters. Must try.

Wonderful veracity of vegan burgers. Made from the best organic and fresh ingredients. Great location, large sun lit space, free wifi and many great resources to read from about the unhealthy and harmful way baby cows and their mothers are treated in the meat industry. Loved it :)

The food here not only tastes good but is also very budget-friendly. This place is an awesome choice for a quick bite.

Decent food, reasonable prices & friendly service. Please note that even though the menu says "Chicken, Duck" etc, this is a VEGAN restaurant. I ordered the "Vege Smoked Duck" which again is Vegan. Hard to miss with the "green" painted door at the entrance :)

I recommend go there when you want a good vegan sandwich, 2 thumbs up
